Susanne Heubel is of Counsel to Satterlee Stephens LLP.
Ms. Heubel concentrates her practice in the area of immigration law. She assists companies and individuals who wish to employ foreign nationals in the United States for a temporary period or permanently. She also assists individuals with applications for naturalization and is involved in a variety of family-based immigration matters.
Ms. Heubel is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), in which she is current Co-Chair of the New York Chapter Department of Labor Committee. She is also a past member of the AILA National Distance Learning Committee. She is past Chair of the Committee on Central and Eastern European and Central Asian Law of the International Law and Practice Section, New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). She is also a past member of the Immigration and Nationality Committee, Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Ms. Heubel has participated in various live and online AILA panels and has been a discussion leader in AILA pod casts. She is co-author of the article “So What About the I-9? I-9 and E-Verify Compliance in the Context of Pending Adjustment of Status Applications and Travel on Advance Parole” in The Immigration Compliance Book by ILW (2009). Ms. Heubel revised the chapters on O and P visas of the treatise Immigration Law and Procedure in 2003. Ms. Heubel is also a member of the German American Chamber of Commerce.
In 2016, Ms. Heubel obtained the Legal Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification.
Ms. Heubel speaks fluent German and has advanced skills in Spanish.
Ms. Heubel earned her law degree at the University of Wuerzburg in Germany and was awarded a Master’s of Law Degree in International Business and Trade from Fordham University School of Law, cum laude, where she was a member of the International Law Journal.
