Carol Spawn Desmond

Experience:

Carol Spawn Desmond is counsel to Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke LLP.

Her practice consists of commercial transactions, corporate and securities law, intellectual property and Internet policies and counseling employers regarding employment law issues. She has been a panelist for the Securities Regulation Committee of the Business Division of the New York State Bar Association and the Tax & Securities Law Institute of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.

Ms. Desmond has lectured on U.S. corporate and securities issues at Birkbeck University of the University of London and been an Adjunct Instructor in Contracts at Pace University Law School. She was selected for inclusion in 2011 New York Super Lawyers.

She is Fellow of the American Bar Association and an Empire State Counsel with the New York State Bar Association. Ms. Desmond also serves on the Boards of and provides corporate governance advise to not-for-profit organizations in the New York metropolitan area.

She was selected by the nationally-recognized LIONS VCB Steering Committee to receive the Nancy T. Jones Humanitarian Award for 2011 in recognition of her commitment and service to VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Ms. Desmond is admitted to practice in the State of New York and in the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Education:

Ms. Desmond earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as the Topics Editor of the Immigration Law Journal. Ms. Desmond earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida.
