Experience:
James J. Coster is a partner of Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke LLP.
Mr. Coster is a trial attorney with experience in a broad array of commercial litigation, particularly on behalf of financial institutions.
As a litigator, Mr. Coster has successfully handled cases involving a wide variety of commercial rights, including commercial contracts, lender liability, depository liability, securities fraud, bank fraud, securities class actions, consumer class actions and general contract litigation. He has represented both secured and unsecured creditors in out of court negotiations and bankruptcy proceedings.
In addition, Mr. Coster routinely represents financial institutions in adversary proceedings in Bankruptcy Court.
Admitted to practice before the Bar of the State of New York, and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Mr. Coster is a member of the Litigation Sections of both the New York State and the American Bar Associations.
Education:
Mr. Coster earned his undergraduate degree (B.A.) from Boston College and his law degree (J.D.) from St. John’s University, where he was a St. Thomas More Scholar.
