Careers for Attorneys
Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke LLP is an equal opportunity employer. It is our policy to recruit, hire, train, and promote employees without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, gender, medical condition or disability, or any other protected status under federal, state, or local law.
Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke LLP offers its attorneys an uncommonly interesting, sophisticated, and varied practice, especially for a firm of our size. At present, Satterlee comprises approximately 60 lawyers who practice in the areas of commercial litigation; First Amendment, intellectual property and media law; corporate, securities, banking, and finance law; energy and natural resources; real estate; taxation; trusts and estates; family law; insolvency law; and immigration and nationality law.
Satterlee looks for associates who have outstanding academic records; who have demonstrated initiative, maturity, and congeniality; and who are interested in taking on significant responsibilities very early in their careers. For example, our new attorneys typically begin appearing in court and having direct contact with clients almost immediately after joining us. All associates work directly with partners on virtually every matter.
Our associate program is designed to introduce new attorneys to all areas of the firm’s practice. There is no formal departmental rotation. First and second year associates generally handle a broad range of matters at any given time, although special consideration is given to an associate’s desire to gain experience in a particular area of the law. The firm is also committed to respecting the lifestyle concerns of our associates without compromising our longstanding reputation for excellent, rigorous, and innovative legal work.
We welcome applications from judicial clerks and laterals as well as from second-year and third-year law students seeking summer employment.
