Michael J. McAllister
Michael J. McAllister is a partner of Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke LLP. For over twenty-five years, Mr. McAllister has represented numerous broker-dealers and their employees in federal and state courts, S.R.O. enforcement proceedings and in arbitration before the SEC, NYSE, AMEX, NASD and AAA. These proceedings include trials, federal grand juries, disciplinary proceedings before the NYSE and AMEX and arbitration hearings based on alleged violations of the federal securities law and the common law, relating to insider trading, failure to supervise and failure to maintain proper books and records. As a member of the SIA Compliance and Legal Division, he has been a workshop panelist regarding securities arbitration. In July 1991, July 1992, August 1994, August 1995, February 1996 and July 1996, Mr. McAllister was a panelist at the Practising Law Institute programs on securities arbitration, specifically speaking on employment disputes, customer claims and "raiding" cases and acting as Chairperson of a simulated arbitration hearing. In September 1992 and November 1993, he was a panelist at the NASD workshops addressing arbitration issues, as well. In October 1996, April 1997 and August 1997, Mr. McAllister testified as an expert witness in three different NASD arbitration hearings in Seattle, Washington, San Diego, California and New York City involving "raiding" and restrictive covenant issues. Mr. McAllister is admitted to practice in New York. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern District and Eastern District, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. McAllister earned his undergraduate degree (A.B.) from Georgetown and his law degree (LL.B.) from Fordham University.
